American Heart Association CPR Certification Classes
The Hoover Fire Department is pleased to be able to offer CPR courses to our community and health care providers. These classes have proven time and again that they can and do save lives.
The Hoover Fire Department offers American Heart Association CPR certification classes for the general public on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. The classes are held at Hoover Fire Station 7 located at 100 Inverness Parkway, which is off Valleydale Road near Highway 280.
Classes begin at 9:00am and last approximately 4 hours. Please click a button below to register for the appropriate class.
*Please note that class size is limited and you are required to register for a class using our online system. Online payment is required to complete your registration. Payments are non-refundable. You may reschedule a class you have paid for as long as more than 24 hours’ notice is given. If you show up and are not registered, you will be denied the course that day. If you register for the wrong class (i.e. you enrolled in Heartsaver and needed BLS Provider), you will receive certification for the class you registered for only!
*American Heart Association (AHA) issues your certification cards electronically to the email address you used when you signed in for the class. Please make sure your email address is correct and you remember which email address you used. Cards may take 5-7 business days to process. If after 7 business days you have not received an email from AHA, make sure to check your spam and junk email folders as your email server may have placed it there. You can also proactively set your email service to accept emails from “eCards@heart.org”

Heartsaver/AED CPR
This class is designed for the layperson (non-healthcare provider) who is seeking to learn CPR and AED operation. This course provides training for infant, child, and adult resuscitation.
This class is available on the 3rd Saturday of each month, begins at 9:00 A.M. and lasts approximately 4 hours.
The cost for this class is $45.00 paid online at time of registration.
BLS Provider CPR
This class is designed for the Healthcare Provider (nurse, physician, EMT, etc.) However, anyone may register for this class. This course requires the completion of a written examination and provides for infant, child, and adult resuscitation.
This class is available on the 1st Saturday of the month, begins at 9:00 A.M. and lasts approximately 4 hours.
The cost for this class is $35.00 paid online at time of registration.
Skills Only Testing
If you prefer, you may take the American Heart Association BLS Provider online class (http://www.onlineaha.org/). After completing the course, you may register for the Skills Only testing option. The Skills Only testing is for the BLS Provider course only.
The Skills Only Testing session is available on the 1st Saturday of each month and begins at 12:00 noon. You must bring your printed certificate of completion provided through the American Heart Association online testing center so that you may participate in testing.
The cost of skills only testing is $16.50 paid online at time of registration.
